Recent Publications

Dr. Tim Ford, has written a new
textbook entitles, Separable Algebra.
Due to be published on October 20, 2017,
this book presents a comprehensive
introduction to the theory of separable
algebras over commutative rings.
Azumaya algebras, the henselization of
local rings, and Galois theory are
rigorously introduced and treated.
Essential connections are drawn
between the theory of separable
algebras and Morita theory, the theory
of faithfully flat descent, cohomology,
derivations, differentials, reflexive lattices,
maximal orders, and class groups.

Statistics Workshop 2016

Theme: Changing with Technology in Statistical Education

The statistics workshop is to integrate with the 2016 eCOTS theme of “Changing with Technology”. The workshop will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016 on the Boca Raton campus at Florida Atlantic University.

The objectives of the workshop are to disseminate and survey new statistical ideas and tools in responding to the change with technology, to help bring existing ideas to fruition, and to provide a forum for teachers, graduate and undergraduate students from universities, colleges, as well as teachers from high schools from South Florida, to build local statistics education community, to learn from and engage with each other. The key activities will feature on one keynote speaker, educational workshops, hands-on practice, and circles of discussions and communications.

Registration: The registration for the workshop is included free if you sign up for 2016 eCOTS via . Please make sure to choose Florida Atlantic University as the answer for the question “Are you planning to attend any of the following regional conferences?” when you register for eCOTS.

Parking: Please park in any of the Blue Lots (white spaces). The workshop will be held in the Science Building (SE-43) with registration in room 215 and all talks in room 271. For a map of the Boca Raton campus, click here . Lots, 2, 4 and 7 have white spaces (look for signs for the Blue Lots).
