The Department of Mathematical Sciences hosts a variety of seminars in which faculty, students and visitors present and discuss their recent work. These seminars meet in SE 215 unless otherwise stated.
Research seminars with topics including: Analysis (Complex, Harmonic, and Functional), Differential Equations, Dynamical Systems, Control Theory, Mathematical Biology, and Stochastic Models
Weekly research seminars with topics covering: commutative and non-commutative rings, groups, modules; categorical and combinatorial methods in algebra; representations of groups and of finite dimensional algebras; and applications, in particular to cryptography.
We discuss current topics related to cyber security, including technical as well as non-technical aspects. The seminars feature presentations of current topics within the interdisciplinary field of cyber security.
The Graduate student seminar is a series of short talks (30-60 minutes) which are given with the intended audience of FAU graduate and advanced undergraduate students.
The seminar will run on a biweekly basis and cover research topics from statistical and data sciences, probability, and their applications to various research disciplines.
