19th International Symposium on Artificial Intelligence and Mathematics

Bahia Mar, Fort Lauderdale Beach — January 7–9, 2026

Leading researchers and educators in mathematics and artificial intelligence (AI) experts converged at the Bahia Mar Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, for the 19th International Symposium on Artificial Intelligence and Mathematics (ISAIM), January 7-9, 2026. Sponsored by the Annals of Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence and Florida Atlantic University, this biennial meeting is supported by a global advisory committee. The symposium enjoys a long-standing tradition of fostering deep scientific exchange at the intersection of mathematics, theoretical computer science, and AI.

A Forum for Interdisciplinary Exchange

ISAIM 2026 brought together participants from academia, industry, and research institutions from around the world for three days of intellectual engagement. The symposium’s program featured a balanced mix of invited keynote presentations, including three addresses and an interview. In addition, there were technical paper presentations, including several special topic sessions, emphasizing both foundational theory and emerging mathematical methods in artificial intelligence.
The event’s structure enabled attendees to explore rigorous theoretical concepts alongside cutting-edge AI techniques, reflecting ISAIM’s foundational goal of connecting mathematical frameworks with practical AI research and applications.

Distinguished Keynote Speakers

A highlight of the symposium was the roster of esteemed keynote speakers, whose talks spanned a wide array of AI-related topics and mathematical approaches. The lineup included:

  • Ariel Felner (Ben Gurion University), discussing new developments in heuristic search and planning algorithms.
  • Sergei Gukov (California Institute of Technology), exploring the interface of mathematics and theoretical physics with computation.
  • Jeff Jaffe, former CEO of the World Wide Web Consortium, providing insights into the evolution of web standards and AI’s role in global information systems.
  • Xingquan Zhu (Florida Atlantic University), focusing on machine learning, optimization, and data-driven AI methods.

These presentations offered both broad vision and technical depth, engaging attendees across different levels of expertise.

Special Sessions and Technical Contributions

ISAIM 2026 featured several special topic sessions curated by subject-area experts. These included sessions on AI planning and learning, data-driven decision-making and optimization, and applications of AI in algebraic structures such as group theory. These focused presentations allowed researchers to dive into niche areas of AI where mathematical rigor is essential, sparking lively debates and potential collaborations.
In addition, the symposium showcased other peer-reviewed technical papers contributed by researchers worldwide. Presentations covered theoretical advances, algorithmic innovations, and case studies illustrating the mathematical underpinnings of modern AI systems. Many of these contributions are expected to influence future work across both disciplines.

Venue and Networking

The Bahia Mar Fort Lauderdale Beach provided an idyllic backdrop for the gathering, with sessions held in elegant conference spaces overlooking the Atlantic. The relaxed, beachfront setting fostered interactions among attendees — from structured panel discussions to impromptu conversations during breaks.
Symposium organizers also facilitated social and networking events, including a Water Taxi excursion and a banquet, offering participants a chance to build professional relationships and explore potential collaborations beyond formal sessions.

Where Mathematics Meets the Future of AI
