Yuan Wang received her Ph.D. degree in Mathematics from Rutgers University in 1990. Since then she has been with the Department of Mathematics at Florida Atlantic University, where she is currently a Professor. In 1993, she visited the Institute of Mathematics and Its Application, University of Minnesota, for one month. In 1994, she held a short term visiting position at LAGEP, Universite Claude Bernard Lyon I, France. In 1996, she visited the Australian National University for one month. She received an NSF Young Investigator award in 1994.

Dr. Wang's research interests lie in several areas of control theory, including realization and stabilization of nonlinear systems. From 1994 to 1995, She served on the IEEE Conference Editorial Board. From 1995 to 2003, she served as an Associate Editor for Systems & Control Letters. Since 1999, she has been serving as a moderator of the optimization and control branch for the unified mathematics archive http://www.arxiv.org/archive/math .
