GeoGebra Day at FAU

Saturday, March 10, 2018

10:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Florida Atlantic University

Science and Engineering Building (SE), Room 314 (Computer Lab)

What is GeoGebra?

GeoGebra is a Dynamic Geometry Software (DGS) that supports constructions with points, lines and all conic sections. On the other hand, it provides typical features of a Computer Algebra System (CAS) such as function plotting, root finding, derivatives and integrals. That's why we call GeoGebra a Dynamic Mathematics Software (DMS) for geometry, algebra and calculus.

Who should attend?

Middle and High School Teachers and Middle and High School Students

Description

Join us for a day of GeoGebra discovery. GeoGebra is a free-for-all computer program for learning and teaching mathematics and science.

We invite all level mathematics and science teachers to learn basic of GeoGebra, refresh skills or find out about the newest features of GeoGebra 6.

Bring your own laptop if you like with GeoGebra 5 and 6 installed already or use one of our computers. Join the international GeoGebra community with a day of workshops, discussions, and sharing.

You will learn many new ideas and hopefully join our network of “GeoGeobra Enthusiasts.”

Please verify your interest and register via google form:

guanDr. Katarzyna Winkowska-Nowak

Katarzyna Winkowska-Nowak is a Polish mathematician who shares her life between Poland and Florida.  Katarzyna has a rigorous mathematical education both from Warsaw University in Poland and from Florida Atlantic Universty at Boca Raton Florida. She is interested in the application of mathematics into social sciences. Her main interests are application of complex systems into modeling human behavior.  Beside her scientific interest she is engaged in improving mathematics education. She works on developing materials for teaching mathematics for social scientists, college students and for teachers.
