MSP Courses for Fall 2006

If you have already taken MSP courses at FAU,
you are already admitted to FAU and know how to use the online OASIS system:

Please wait a few days, until the new courses have both been entered into the system!

The courses will probably be:

MAE 6327, Section 001 and 002, Sequence #1623?
Patterns and Scaling for Teachers of the Middle Grades

Wednesday 05:00-08:00PM Davie. (Although time and place may change).

Permission will be needed from Markus Hohenwarter (mhohen@math.fau.edu).
Once both MAE 6327 courses are online and you can see that you have permission to register for one of them, you should complete the registration process.

If you are beginning the MSP program in Fall 2006
your registration will have two steps.

Step 1: Enrollment in FAU.
a) If you have been enrolled at FAU during the previous 12 months, skip to step 2.
b) If you have been enrolled at FAU you may be still be in the computer system. Try to log in at
http://oasis.fau.edu  If successful, skip to step 2.

If you are not in the FAU computer system, you will need to apply for admission as a non-degree seeking student.

Once you have begun taking the MSP courses you will formally apply for the MST degree program in the Dept. of Mathematical Sciences, but you do not need to do this now.

To apply you must:
  • Complete the Enrollment Application form.
  • Complete the Non-Degree Residency Classification Form.                                      Bring these forms and the Residency Classification supporting documents to any of the FAU registrar's offices.  Although the official FAU instructions for non-degree registration suggest mailing the forms, there is not enough time to complete the mail-in process.
  • Complete the Immunization Form. Attach supporting documents, and submit them to
    Student Health Services
    777 Glades Road
    Boca Raton, FL 33431
You can also fax the immunization form to 561-297-2769

When you have completed registration, please send an email to Richard Voss (rvoss@fau.edu)
so that you can be given instructor permission for the course.

Step 2: Course Registration.
  • Once you are enrolled as a non-degree student you may use online course registration from August 14 through August 18, 2006 at  http://oasis.fau.edu
  • Walk-in registration at  a Registrar's Office is only available on Monday August 21, 2006.
You should register for course:

MAE 6324, Section 001, Sequence #16232
Patterns and Iterations for Teachers of the Middle Grades
Wednesday 05:00-08:00PM Davie. (Although time and place may change).
