A new grant from the National Science Foundation in conjunction with Florida Atlantic University and the Broward County Schools gives participants an opportunity to take part in summer training and to take part in a program leading to a master's degree in middle school mathematics.
Participants will be paid a $1000 stipend from the NSF grant. Daily attendance is required as this is not an hourly stipend.
Courses will offer hands-on learning experiences that will enhance the middle school curriculum, with special emphasis on technology.
There will be opportunities to hear and work with world-renowned mathematicians and mathematics educators. Interested participants may continue to pursue topics through graduate courses at FAU in the following years. This program can lead to a master's degree in middle school mathematics.
Lunch will be provided.
Clich here for registration. (A note for master teacher: your Summer Institute starts on July 17!)
For additional information, call Rachel Dixon or Judy Jordan at 754-321-1868.
