Calculus III  (Spring 2007)

Hi, here is some information about my course Calculus III, MAC 2313. We meet Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, 10:00 - 10:50 p.m. in SO 300.

Textbook and Topics

We are going to use the textbook Calculus - Early Transcendentals, 5th edition by James Stewart ( ISBN 0-534-39321-7). In this course we are going to cover the following chapters.

Chapter 12	Vectors and the geometry of space --- as needed
Chapter 13	Vector Functions  --- we start here
Chapter 14	Partial Derivatives
Chapter 15	Multiple Integrals
Chapter 16	Vector Calculus

Credit

Homework:  Every week, homework problems will be assigned and posted here; some problems come up on a quiz.

Quizzes:  There'll be a quiz every Friday; the ten best quizzes count for 1/3 of the grade.

Extra Credit:  You can obtain extra credit for assignments done on a computer algebra system, for example Maple.

Midterm Exam:  The midterm exam counts for 1/4 of the grade. The Midterm Exam is scheduled for Thursday, February 22 (during class time).

Final Exam:  The final exam is comprehensive. It will take place on Sunday, April 29, 2007 from 4:00 - 6:30 p.m. in GS 116, counting for 5/12 of your grade.
