Textbook: Introduction to Linear Regression Analysis by Douglas C. Montgomery, Elizabeth A. Peck and G. Geoffrey Vining. Third Edition, John Wiley, 2001.

Course Description: This is a first course in regression. Regression analysis explores relationships among variables by modeling a response. Simple linear regression, residual analysis and model validation, multiple linear regression, model selection, multicollinearity, nonlinear curve fitting, categorical predictors, introduction to analysis of variance and covariance.

Tests & Grades: Two midterm exams: 40%; Homework assignments: 20%; Two term projects: 40%.
The one credit Lab class STAL 4202 (Applied Statistics 1 Lab with call#: 13916) is required for the course to finish the computer projects.
